Silas had signed his marriage certificate with an X and the vicar hadwritten beside it "the mark of Silas Beeby". Frances had signed her own name. Silas is shown to be "of full age" which is taken to mean over 21. Frances was 19. They were both resident in Hassett Street, Bedford. Vicar was John Bennett. Father of Frances is given as Thomas Spriggs, a parchment maker. Father of Silas is shown as William Beeby, labourer. Certificate is 1873, No. 283. Married at Holy Trinity Church, Bedford, Bedfordshire.
