If
you like your music live,
there are several places in Bollington to interest
you.
Amandla play several times a year at the Dog & Partridge; their function room holds 70-80 people and is also home to Arthur Wakefield's legendary Friday night folk club and trad. jazz band Annie's Saints and Sinners second Tuesday in the month.
The Meridian has a jam session on a Monday night, and this is getting oversubscribe with musicians so they are introducing a second session (day to be announced).
The Cotton Tree, possibly the best pub in Bollington, is rapidly gaining a reputation for good beer, good music and good craic. Every Saturday night there is live music, the style varies from Irish through Cajun and jugband to rock and blues in an intimate(!) atmosphere.
Several pro musicians have been along to the sessions and, if rumours are to be believed, some of the most well known Irish musicians (from Dublin!) are keen to pay a visit, and of course Amandla pop up there from time to time. It does get very busy most nights, so get there early if you want a seat.
