This recording is from the first
official day on air - Monday
February 2nd 1987. Laser Hot
Hits broadcast from the ship
'Communicator' around 20 miles
from the British coast in the
Thames Estuary. Previously, the
station originally named "Laser
558", had been a very successful
offshore station in 1985, but
was towed into the River Stour
near Harwich UK, after
suffering power failure
in November of that year. Laser
Hot Hits was very short lived,
lasting only a few months,
however on their first day DJ's
Brandy Lee, and D.L.Bogart sound
upbeat. Newsman Andrew Turner
reads the bulletins, and the
station advertises a music
trivia game, and airs an
advertising insert to promote
the station....60
minutes.....Audio Quality as you
would expect from an AM
recording.
