Holiday
2005 This year I went on holiday to the mountains in Germany AGAIN! This time Leanna Clarke came with me so we could train together at the Voralberg Landessportschule in Austria. It's like Lilleshall and is where the top gymnasts from the western part of Austria train and stay over and it was really cool to be able to keep ourselves in condition and have a holiday at the same time. We had to drive over some really windy roads, so it took a while to get to the gym we managed to train every other day and did a walk or swimming or something on the other days. Some of the walks were more like climbing and a bit long, very long in fact, unless you call 8 hours short! Anyway, take a look at some pictures of us on those hikes in the mountains and in the gym. |

2004
- The Olympics I went on holiday to Athens to see the gymnastics at the Olympic Games. We stayed on an island and had to use a boat to get to the Olympics and this time my dad did not find any mountains. It was great to watch the gym. I saw all of the qualifiers, the team finals and the all-around. We all had a great time and came home to watch the apparatus finals on TV. My dad took hundreds of pictures and I have chosen loads to put on my site. Click on the pictures below to open a new window with a slide show selection of photos from the Qualifying Rounds, Team Final, All-around Final as well as photos from around the Olympic Park and Athens - enjoy, there are quite a lot of photos! |

World Class Start International Camp,
Deva Romania January 2004 I had a fantastic time on my second trip to Deva in Romania and I thought I would write about the best and the worst things about my trip. The best part of the journey to Deva was on the plane and the worst bit was when we had turbulence on the plane on the way home. Some people were frightened and someone was sick. Yuck. The bus journey from Deva to the airport was the longest part on the way home because we left at about midnight. The best bit was that I could sleep on the bus. My favourite meal was carbonnara and we all ate it in five minuets. My worst meal was a Romanian dish which was semolina, feta cheese and sour cream. Yuck! My scariest gym session was when I hit my feet on the high bar doing a Jager and landed on my head. Ouch! The best gym session was when Belu was there and I caught three Jagers from blind on bars and I got a hug from Belu. The funniest person there was Ashleigh because she always made everyone laugh and every time she died on my gameboy she screamed. The best shopping day was in Bucharest on the way home. |

World Class Start International Camp, Tata
Hungary October
2003 We left home at about 9:00am, met up with Shannon, Leanne and Rachel and followed them to Heathrow Airport. We left England at 1:30pm. The journey was about 3 hours, then the coach was about 2 hours, so we got there at about 5:00pm. Claire from Liverpool told us who we were sharing with. I was with Emma Smith. I woke every day at about 7:30am which is 6:30am in England and went to breakfast. Our first training session started at 9:30am to 12:30pm. Then we had lunch and went back to our rooms for a break The second training session started at 3:00pm and finished at 6:00pm. Sometimes we went swimming before lights out at about 9:00pm, which is only 8:00pm at home!!! On Sunday afternoon we went on a train thing on the road to see a lake and some of Tata. On Wednesday we went to a vineyard, then on a ride thing which was fun and then to Budapest to go shopping (not to mention the sights in one of Europe's most beautiful cities - dad). I bought a present for my brother and some stuff for me. We got back at 7:30pm, had dinner then went to bed. On the last day we got up at 5:45am and left Tata at 7:00am. We arrived at Heathrow airport at about 12:45pm and all went home. |

Holiday
2003 When I went on holiday I went to Crete and my dad still found mountains. See, we always go to the mountains! We went to Frangokastello where they have tumble weeds like in the movies. This year we went down mountains from the top and I had to climb over 1km down into the gorge and then back up to get back to the car. It took all day and was hot, hot hot. I still want to go to Disneyland next year and last year and the year before. Have a look at some more pictures of me in the mountains, well and on the beach. |

World Class Start International Camp, Deva Romania
January
2003 We woke up at 5am on 13th January and left at 5:45am to get to Heathrow airport. We left England at 9:30am and arrived in Romania at 2:45pm. After we left the airport we had an 8 hour coach journey. When we had arrived where we were staying it was about 2:15am. When we were inside Octavian Bellu the head coach of Romania showed us to our rooms. I was with Hannah Wickens, Holly Moore and Becky Downie. Each day I woke up at 7:00am which is 5:00am in England and went to breakfast at 7:30am. After breakfast we went to the gym to train from 8:00am to 10:30am. Then we went back to our rooms for a break or watched the Romanian gymnasts training or doing ballet. We also trained with the older Romanians and did their conditioning. We had lunch and went to the gym at 3:00pm and finished at 6:00pm. Sometimes we went in the sauna, played on the ice or had a snowball fight till dinner. After dinner we would play with the younger Romanian gymnasts. We went to bed at 9:30pm. One day we went on a walk to the shop. All of us bought a present for the coaches Liz and Nat because it was their birthdays. We went to dinner at 8:45pm and because it was Liz’s and Nat’s and this other man’s birthday they had a cake. We sang Happy Birthday to them and when they blew the candles out it was pitch black. On Sunday we went into town with all of the older Romanian gymnasts. We came back at about 5:00pm and watched some gym on a video and watched ourselves do the Romanian conditioning. Then we started to learn a dance with the Romanians for our display on the last night. On the last night we had to get up at 3:00am for the long coach journey to the airport. We arrived at Heathrow airport at about 5:30pm which is 7:30pm in Romania. |

Holiday
2002 When I went on holiday I went to the mountains in Germany. We nearly always go to the mountains because my dad likes to climb the steepest and tallest one he can find. Mum asks "why?" and dad says, "Because it's there". We went to Oberstdorf this year where the mountains are smaller than in Austria where we went last year when I trained in Innsbruck. Last year I climbed one mountain that was higher than 3000m (my dad says that's nearly 10000 feet). This year I went up one mountain and I had to climb over 1km up into the sky to get to the top. It took all day and there were metal ropes and things. I want to go to Disneyland next year and last year and the year before. Have a look at some pictures of me in the mountains. |
