Medieval Madness
Designed by Brian Eddy this table has been described by many as a Monty Python'esk AFM on steroids! with more of everything.... shots, toys & hilarious humour, but at the same time making it less frantic, by slowing down the gameplay and removing annoying ball drains.
MM is one of the most sought after tables of all time! why you may ask? well there are so many reasons so where do I start!.

The Cabinet & Translite
First off when you see this table in the flesh you will see why pictures do not give it justice, the cabinet art work is just gorgeous raising itself from the cabinet giving the impression of real leather letters embroidered into the cab its self, and you could almost reach out and pull the marshmallow from the arrow and eat it. To top off this awesome cabinet is the backglass translite which in my opinion is the best work of John Youssi ever! again it is the attention to detail and use of colour that puts it top of my list (check out the AFM saucer).

The Playfield
what imediately strikes you are the bright colours and the massive amount of detailed artwork, it actually takes quite a bit of studying before you appreciate the work of the artist Greg Freres. Then onto the toys! it is a veritable playground that beckons you in, in fact only Monster Bash has topped it in my opinion! The main feature of the game is the Castle that rocks when destroyed and I mean rocks!, in that it literally shakes apart with the towers flying in all directions to an awesome crescendo of light and sound. Next have to be the two trolls who reside under the trapdoors in the middle of the PF, they pop up in various modes of play taunting you as you endeavour to knock them back to where they belong. I think these guys are the reason why MM has been so good on location as they wind you up so much you just have to have one more go to get your revenge on em!. Favourite for me is the Dragon, this is a fairly easy loop shot which when mastered gives you access to the tower letting you save the damsel held captive there. You are rewarded with a one liner from the damsel herself (sometimes ungrateful) and a damsel multiball via the Merlins saucers shot.
Finally there is the catapult, the most difficult shot on the table reached more through luck then skill! but on completion gives you a DMD display game letting you shoot various items inc a Cow! from a catapult. There are other shots not involving toys but equally integral to the game inc the very hard to achieve DMD defender game which I have yet to attain. :-(

All in all MM has something for everyone and my hat goes off to anyone who has mastered it fully on a standard 3 ball game. There are far too many modes to list here inc numerous multiball modes and it would be difficult for anyone to tire of such a masterpiece.
My rating  faultless 10/10
