Before I got into car’s, I used to ride bikes....My Bike history:
1972 Garelli Tiger Cross 50cc sports moped, owned when I was 16 between August 1976 and March 1977.
1974 Suzuki GT185K, my first proper bike, owned between March 1977 March 1979. Purchased just befoe my 17th Birthday, started using it as soon as I was old enough and passed my full bike test within a few weeks!
1999 Honda CJ360T, my first ever brand new vehicle, owned between March 1979 and May 1980. When I bought it is was an out of date old stock model, so it was cheap!
1998 Honda CB550K3, Owned between May 1980 and July 1980.I only owned this a few weeks as I had a serious accident on a dual carriageway, got knocked off the bike by a Securicor van while overtaking him. His fault, he pulled out to overtake a lorry without checking his mirror or signaling and was subsequently prosecuted for driving without due care and attention. I spent 6 weeks in hospital with a busted pelvis, 2 months off work and bike was a write off. The injury compensation helped pay off a loan that my Dad gave me for the deposit on my my first flat, so not all bad then!
Can’t remember the year of this bike! a Suzuki TS100 trials bike, owned between autumn 1980 and March 1981. Bought to get back on two wheels after the accident as I couldn't get my leg over a bigger bike due to my injuries!
1999 Honda CX500, best bike I ever owned, a superb long distance machine and great for high speed cruising with the fairing that I added! owned between March 1981 and 1984,I covered about 40,000 miles on this bike and wish I hadn't sold it.
2001 Yamaha XS400, not a very pleasant bike to ride as vibrated loads! owned between January 1985 and 1988. Used really as a commuter bike.
