Over the years I’ve attended many Triumph and classic car events and over the last couple of years have started to get along to new MINI events as well. I’ve met some great people through the years at these events, some of whom have become great friends, in fact I even met my wife at a
TSSC national event in Stafford.With my Triumph I have been to events all over the UK and for many years I used to combine a trip to International Triumph meetings in Holland
organised by the TSSC and Dutch
Triumph Spitfire Club with a tour of a few European countries, including Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. One year I even managed to incorporate a visit to the
Nurburgring and had an enjoyable high speed thrash of the GT6 around the famous challenging circuit.
Some of the UK events that I’ve attended through the years with the GT6 have been:-
International
TSSC meetings at Stafford, Cranfield and Peterborough, National
TSSC meetings at Leatherhead, Chessington, Hatton, Duxford (I helped organise the
TSSC shows at Duxford for several years), Stanford Hall..
Local area organised events at Brean, in Cornwall, in the Cotswalds, in the Isle of Wight.
Classic Car shows at Bromley, Enfield, Ongar, Chelmsford, Ilford.
In 2006 I sucessfuly completed the Round Britain Reliability Run organised by
Club Triumph in aid of the Bliss Charity.
We were supposed to be using my mate Jason’s 2.7 litre Vitesse Convertible but due to Engine problems we substituted my GT6 at the last minute. The run started off in North London at 7pm on a Friday night, then it was up to John O Groats overnight arriving on Saturday
morning, then down to Lands End in a day and night and back to North London on the Sunday, over 2000 miles within 48 hours over a weekend

Round Britain Reliability Run
Since buying my MINI Cooper a couple of years ago I have also started to attend
MINI2 and SCNM events such as MINI runs in Cotswolds, Chilterns, South Downs, Essex and the annual
MINI2 charity ball (a glitzy black tie and ball gown type affair!)
On this page you’ll find some pictures of various club events through the years.
It’s now getting difficult to fit everything in though and I’m finding that the Triumph, Mini events and family commitments keep having date clashes.....
