Singapore isn't a place we actually deliberately visited but it is a flight connection to several places and so we have spent the occassional day there.
A very modern city and cleaner than clean, it was a perfect antidote to Dhaka and led to Donna inventing the phrase unDhaka.
Sentosa Island is located off the south coast of Singapore main island and can be reached by bridge or cable car. Beautiful landscape and attractions for kids and adults alike. You can even scuba dive with sharks in the Underwater World. I passed on that one. Jurong Bird Park is very impressive place with a huge range of birds. An amazing array of colour and in addition to the normal big cages there are areas where you are in with the birds. Also there are shows of birds of prey and various performing birds.
I would really recommend the Night Safari. You walk around some and ride some on a tram. In some places there are no fences and in others the fences are not obvious. Being there after dark you can see the nighttime behaviour of the inmates and it is quite eery to look across at a wolf or a tiger at night without feeling certain that there is really a fence.
You may also enjoy getting up close and personal with the large fruit bats.
Usually Singapore is a clean and orderly place but read the story of the time I stayed overnight in a hotel room where I killed 41 cockroaches.

Where are we?
