The Christening
Next day was the 28th. That was the day of the christening of Donna's niece. Her name is Sophia, shortened to Faye. She is the daughter of Maya (shortened from Khristine-May). The ceremony was short and then all afternoon was relatives visiting and lots of food. By evening most people left but then someone who used to be their local priest came to visit. He is now in a high position in the church, second in line to the bishop of the region or something like that - Father Mons. I was left with him and a bottle of brandy to have a long chat, covering a lot of politics and world affairs etc.
Later the present local priest and a few others from the church arrived. The men helped us some more with the brandy while the women played bingo.
That night me and Donna had decided for the second time to go to Los Banos - planning to be back New Years Eve - but I fell asleep, maybe due to the brandy, and again we stayed.
