A busy 4 days before the wedding

Touring Around the Philippines in February 2006, before and after the wedding

The day after the arrival of the Brits we visited Corregidor Island. It is a strategic island in the mouth of Manila Bay. The Americans had it. The Japs bombed the shit out of it and took it over. General MacArthur pissed off but vowed to return. Couple of years later the US really bombed the shit out of it and took it back from the Japs. The last few thousand Japs living on the island were hiding in tunnels in a massive rock. At least 2000 commmited mass suicide by blowing themselves up inside the rock rather than being captured by the Americans.
We then drove down to a resort called Eagle Point staying there 2 nights. I did a dive and joined the others for snorkelling. We also fitted in a day trip to Taal Volcano (an island in a lake in an island in a lake in an island in an archpeligo).
After Eagle Point we went to Pagsanjan Falls. Up the river in a canoe. Got soaked going behind the falls. Down the rapids.
Lunch in the water at Villa Escudero and then on to Manila for the night.
Next day on the way to Baguio we stopped off at Clark Airbase for a flight in a 4-seater plane around the crater of Mount Pinatubo.

After the wedding the UK friends left and we had a day relaxing in Baguio and then one more night.
Next day we went down to San Fernando City for a party for those not invited to Baguio. Mom and Dad stayed in a beach hut and Donna and I stayed at her Mom's.
In the evening we went to a party at Jay-Jay and Raquel's place.
A tour around San Fernando courtesy of Carlos and Ruth and then an overnight bus trip to Manila for an early flight to Boracay for a few days lazing around the beach.
I also did two scuba dives while we were there.
After returning to Manila we went on a daytrip to Taal Volcano, driven by Sherwin. He stayed with us for a Spanish meal in the evening.
Back in Manila a trip to Corregidor was cancelled so had a look around Fort Santiago and Intramuros.
