Why a Website?


We have friends all over the world that we wanted to make our pictures available to. And I wanted to see if I was able to construct a website.
Incidentally, it is still under construction and I'm adding a bit at a time.

The site is mostly arranged by country and all pages can be accessed from the menu bar on the left.

The extent of our travels so far can be seen on this map. As you can see, there is a lot of the world remaining...

Who are we?

For those that don't know us, we come from very different parts of the world. Donna is from the San Fernando City, La Union, Philippines and I (Conrad) am originally from West Bromwich in the UK.
We met on 16th September 2002 at the International Rice Congress in Beijing. You can read all about that in the China page.
I was working for the Philippine-based International Rice Research Institute, IRRI, at the time and so did Donna. However, although Donna was based in the Philippines, I was based in Bangladesh.
We met in China, after a lot of e-mails we met up for 8 days in Thailand and then a few weeks later Donna took the brave decision to agree to my request to join me in Bangladesh. The trial period went well and after returning home for a while she came back to Bangladesh.

That summer we visited the UK and Paris. We went again to Thailand for the wedding of friends Eady and Navaraj. We visited Nepal and spent a couple of weeks in the Philippines over Christmas 2003.
On 21st February 2004 Donna agreed to marry me and we had a small wedding in Bali on 12th April 2004.
We spent a week in Sri Lanka with friends and then returned to settle (for now) in the UK on 8th July 2004.
In between all these trips we were in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We have a lot of friends there and had some very good times.
Back in the UK job hunting wasn't going that well but I got work that after a few months in Wye took us to Germany. We left there with good memories and Donna did an extra trip without me to visit some of her family based in California.
Now we are back in the UK and waiting to see what life has to offer next.

Mostly pictures and a few stories from the past and what we're doing now.

It is arranged mostly by country with a few pictures and maybe a description or even story or two about our times in that country.
