Welcome to Stibasa! The site is about sustainable transport, particularly cycling, but it is also about sustainable living.
It is focussed on Barking, where I live, but broadens to LB Barking & Dagenham and wider, sometimes. It acts as a website for the
local branch of the
London Cycling Campaign, and I am am also a Local Cyclists' Right to Ride Representative
for
CTC.
The
rides and events listed are mainly local LCC rides starting in east London (that's east of the River Lee,
and North of the Thames, for me) but also other local events in LB Barking & Dagenham, especially if they have a sustainability
theme.
I'm interested in public transport, as you will gather, and I maintain a site about
Barking
Station, particularly as no-one else has a comprehensive and accurate one.
I'm also interested in technology, particularly where it is used for
sustainability. The basic package for mainstream sustainable living, for me, is: folding bike, mobile phone, broadband and
Oyster card. I'm gradually reworking and transferring material from the
old stibasa site. Please bear with me if you can't find what you want on the new site.
I hope you like the site and find it useful. I'm pleased to receive helpful
comments and corrections. Colin Newman.
