Crossing the Chott-el-Jerid from Kebili to Tozeur on GP16 you will notice as you approach the end of the Chott that
on your right hand side and beyond the palm trees, half-way up the hillside there is a white building. Well two
actually, the smaller one the marabout of Sidi Ben Abbes and the larger one the marabout of Sidi Bouhlel. Between
these two buildings lies the entrance to what can only be described as "Star Wars Canyon".
This is the view from the top of the canyon wall (on the spot where Alec Guinness and Mark Hamill stood looking at
Mos Eisley) past Sidi Bouhlel looking back towards the Chott.
