Fun Tiger Extra

Wingspan: 48 inches

Engine: OS FS 52 Surpass 11

Type: Fun fly

Description
Here is a curious thing - I bought this model second-hand from the Andover Model Centre, the seller had not passed on the name of the model to the model shop owner. When I bought it I had no idea what it was called, and spent some time searching the web for the answer. ALL I can say is that I hope the answer I came up with is the correct one.

The other problem was the engine that came with the model, a Thunder Tiger 53 FS. It seemed OK, but I was unable to get it to run reliably, and after a very short time I swapped it for an OS 52 FS Surpass. The I realised that the connection to the engine was long and fexible, so had to dismantle my new engine and install the carburettor the opposite way around.

This roundabout connection became . . . . . . this more direct and reliable link

This is going to make any excellent model to campaign in the club fun fly competitions, as it is reasonably fast, has a good glide, and is easy to control, even with the rates on v. high. I will have to add a little weight to the wing opposite the engine to balance the weight of the four stroke, but apart from that it is ready to go.

Engine
OS FS 52 Surpass - perfect.

Score: 10 out of 10
