All operating days
For Safety reasons, Saltburn Miniature Railway cannot run train services in adverse weather conditions.
Saltburn Miniature Railway reserves the right to cancel train services at any time.
This means if there has been very heavy rain, on the morning of a day of operation, then trains may not be running, on that afternoon.
If very heavy rain starts during the afternoon of an operating day. Train services may be either -
Temporarily suspended, to see if the rain stops. Normal service resuming afterward.
Or cancelled, if generally after 4pm or the rain seems to be 'set' to last the rest of the afternoon.
Whilst we do our best not to cancel train services, please realise this is both for your and our own safety.
When cancelling services becomes necessary, we always check for passengers at both stations before closing.
Besides rain, bad weather can also refer to -:
- severe gale force winds
- snow
- dense fog
- severely cold climate conditions
Bad weather on a Charter / Private Booking.
As mentioned above, cancelling your Train Service(s) may be necessary, from time to time.
However if the bad weather is not affecting our safety systems, you and your group are still prepared to travel, then the service may still go ahead.
The decision made by our train crew is final and is based on safety reasons.
Where possible we will inform you of cancelled services.
