Saltburn Miniature Railway is operated entirely by volunteers.
We would like to welcome anyone interested in volunteering, we offer a large vareity of roles and skills to learn and enjoy.
From Cleaning, Painting, Woodwork, Platelaying (Trackwork), to Engineering and operation of the Train to the Public - Conductor, Guard and Driver.

Volunteers should be at a minimum age of 14, if slightly under and interested, please come along and see us.
There is no maximum age and welcome help from retired people, looking for a hobby to occupy some spare time.
There is no stringent commitment if you decide to volunteer, simply as and when you are able to, when your time permits.
No experience is necessary, all training will be given.

The Train operates to the public from Easter to the end of September. (Summer season)

During the Winter season (October to Easter), we usually undertake routine maintenance, large scale trackwork and any pre-planned projects.
Scheduled Maintenance tasks, both Summer and Winter are on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, typically 9:30am - 1pm.
