Review of Wooden Picks

Wood must have tried for making picks for stringed instruments long before plastics were invented.  It was probably dropped at some stage as it doesn’t lend itself so well to mass production.  However, it does have some advantages.  I have tried out picks made of Macassar Ebony and Bloodwood from Woodenpicks.com and asked the opinions of other musicians.  All agree that these are the ultimate stiff picks.  They are very stiff.  They are attractive and look very organic.  Some commented that they are easy to grip.  In use there seems to be more of a click than with other picks.  This is a subtle thing and could be desirable depending on the player.  They are worth trying if you like your picks stiff.

This review is simply my opinion of the picks.  I am not connected with the company and do not sell the picks.  They can, however, be obtained from … www.Woodenpicks.com
