Cover artwork from 'From Here To Eternity' (1977) by Giorgio Moroder. |
From Here To Eternity 'From Here To Eternity' established Moroder as a serious contender to Teutonic synth-rivals Kraftwerk, albeit within a 'pop' music framework. The album sleeve notes attribute the (vocoder) 'mystery voice' to Pete Bellotte. The 1977
7" single version of 'From Here To Eternity' was a seamless mix of the
album title track and another track: 'Utopia - Me Giorgio', a composition
which 'suggests Philip Glass in its glowing, recurring patterns', according
to Vince Aletti's sleevenotes for 'From Here To Eternity... And Back',
a 1985 Moroder retrospective CD compilation. |
