'Zodiac Lady' by Roberta Kelly (1978 album cover, Spanish edition). Written and produced by Giorgio Moroder & Pete Bellotte.

Roberta Kelly

Apart from the astrologically-flavoured 'Zodiac Lady', Kelly also made two other albums with Moroder: 'Trouble Maker' (1976) and the disco-gospel 'Gettin' The Spirit' (1979).

Whether consciously or not, the first verse of 'Trouble Maker' mentions two famous 1960s Motown song titles: 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' and 'My Guy'.

Also of possible interest to Moroder-philes is an obvious edit in this track at approximately 2.53 seconds (which actually extends the length of the song by repeating a previous section) a rare error considering Moroder's high production standards.

Roberta Kelly also recorded a single, 'Kung Fu's Back Again', with Moroder and Bellotte in 1974. The record tied in with the early 1970s craze for martial arts - much like the Carl Douglas hits of the same period: 'Kung Fu Fighting' and 'Dance The Kung Fu'.
