Well, it all started along time ago when I was small boy. Some how two aircraft books came into our house, many times I looked at the books and at the time I did not realize what an impression they would make on me. Years later I remembered the two books and wanted to get them back, but I could not recall their name.
I started looking on the Internet trying to find out what they could be called and thought that I was only looking for two volumes. So I went down that route first, looking at for aircraft books, of a two-volume set.
I could
visualize the lay out, a page of text, black and white photographs and plan
drawings on the right hand page. Then I saw an image of an open book on Ebay,
could that be the book? Later I found out that Aircraft of Fighting the Powers
consisted of seven volumes.
But then
what joy, the day I saw the picture of B17's inside a tatty volume five, I knew
that they were the books and I had to collect all seven.
When I started looking for the Aircraft of Fighting the Powers books I found out about our author O.G.Thetford and that he had indeed written many books. As I could not find anything about all of his books on the Internet I decided to make this web site to help others discover his books.
