I have made some changes here today
I have decided to keep what I have
here open to any of my genealogy friends old or new ones so as you are able to
continue to view what I have achieved in my family tree in the past 6 or 8
years, regardless of the fact that I can no longer link new names to it. Sometimes
I am still able to add information onto the existing families in here and will
do so as and when I get new information, and it allows me to do so.
If anyone still wants to contact me via my
e-mail address in my guest book, I shall be pleased to talk with you about my
genealogy.
Hello, my name is Claire.
My website is a genealogy site about me and my family, which includes descendents as well as ancestors.
I hope that it may help others to delve into
their family history. I have found it to be a very absorbing hobby since I retired,
my husband Roy and I spend a lot of time researching.
We visit counties where our ancestors came from, and go to the record offices in those places to search
parish records etc. We go to Chelmsford in Essex, and Ipswich in Suffolk mostly and stay in Bed and Breakfast
accommodations.
At Ipswich we have found a very comfortable and friendly guest house called the Alilac's and would
like to suggest that you try it sometime as it is only a 10 minute walk from the Ipswich Record Office.
Why not go to their website at:
Then at Chelmsford our home for our researching stay is at a very nice B & B in Cedar Avenue West
called' Pemajero', it is about a 35 minutes walk to the record office, but very pleasant on a nice day,
but not so good when wet as we have experienced.
We are not able to walk quite as far as we use to and are trying another place closer to the record office and
town, and will let you know how we get on there after our next visit.
We did go somewhere new, but unfortunately it wasn't very good, though was only a 10 minute walk to the
record office.
For my husband's side of the family we just make a bus journey for our research to
Bedford. Though must admit we don't
go as often as we could, as is sometimes the case when some where is close by.
I shall endeavour to give you all the names, dates and
places about our family with the hopes that others are doing the
same thing and may be able to connect with some of my names. I will start with myself and my own family,
and work back in to the past.
I try not to include details of people who are still alive, but am sure that if you are a true family historian I will give
you details on request.
Click on one of the index pages to find the name you want to look at:-
A surname which includes a number 2 after it just means that there is more than one family with this surname.
A Christian name with a number in brackets after the name, means that there are more than one with that same
Christian name. (makes it easier for me to decipher who is who).
Just leave a message and a contact number or e-mail address in my Guest Book and I will get back to you.
If any of the links do not work let me know and I will do my best to correct them.
Do hope you enjoy the photographs I am now including and of course all of my family history pages.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Do go to my
Guest Book and let me know what you think about this site.
