Corset Construction

Corsets are made very differently to a 'bodice'. They are designed to fit much tighter to enhance the figure. The rigid steel bones will give maximum bust uplift and a flat stomach.

In total there are over 13 non-kink metal bones in each corset. These are carefully hand finished and encased into the seams for durability. There are over 3 layers of fabric including a heavy cotton lining.

You will notice a traditional corset is cut higher at the back, giving greater overall support. At the front, our corsets are generally cut about 4cm above the nipple line and the overall length is approximately 15-16" (37-40cm). The overall back length is 17" (44cm).

The edges are bound with satin and the gentle curves over the bottom and the centre front give a flattering shape. All corsets are finished with sturdy 2 part grommets/eyelets down the back and can laced with ribbon or black lacing if preferred. Both options make it easy to adjust the size to suit when dressing your client.
