Procedure for Veterans Competitions 

  1. Enter your Name on the start sheet on the Veterans Notice Board. 

  2. On day of the event report to the professional to collect your card and pay your £1 entry fee there will also be a 2s sweep which is optional.

  3. On completion of your round enter your results on the club's computer in the normal way.

  4. Place your fully completed and checked card into the box by the computer.

  5. Cards will be checked and results displayed on the Veterans Notice Board.

  6. The leading six players will be shown below, you can also check all the scores by using How did I do

Competition Rules

Frank Barber Bowl - A 36 hole medal competition played over two days off  white tees.

Hong Kong Cup - A Veterans Singles Knock-out Competition after draw for preliminary and subsequent first round Full Handicap allowance off White Tees.

Bernie Keen Trophy - Fourball Better Ball Matchplay competition after draw for preliminary and subsequent first round 3/4 Handicap allowance off White Tees taken from lowest handicap in the group.

Les Fisher Eclectic - One signed card per month from May to October.

John Lawton Trophy -  A competition run in conjunction with a designated monthly Stableford.

Veterans Stablefords - Are played off the White Tees during Summer Months and Yellow Tees at other times  Full Handicap allowance.

Frank Barber Shield - Super Veterans Stableford competition over 12 holes yearly. Restricted to members aged 75 and over. 

David Sells Shield - Fourball Better Ball Stableford - Full Handicap yellow Tees - Draw for partners (High Low Combinations).

Ernie Stagg Shield - Greensomes Stableford draw for Partners (High Low Combinations).

Richmond Divots Golf Society Shield - A three club competition Stableford off full handicap (must include a putter). Trophy donated by the Richmond Divots Golf Society to the Veterans Section in 1987

Ray Stokes Shield - A competition run in conjunction with a designated monthly Stableford.

Jack Bond Shield - A foursome competition draw for partners (High Low Combinations). Handicap Allowance 7/16 of combined.

Ray Sidders Trophy - 12 monthly Stableford competitions with points allotted to the 6 highest scores off full handicap each month.

Knockout Competitions - Arrangement of ties.

In these competitions as soon as the draw is made (or following each round) it is the responsibility of the first named player (s) to contact the other within 7 days and to offer three mutually acceptable dates within the time allowed.

 

If the first named player(s) does not carry this out, their opponent(s) must then contact the first named player(s) and formally give a choice of three dates.

If the first named player(s) does not accept one of these dates then they the first named player (s) shall be disqualified.

 

If both players/pairs fail to offer their opponent(s) three dates as stipulated above, then both players/pairs will be disqualified.
