Retford have dramatically secured promotion to the NCEL Premier Division
following a nervy 2-2 draw with Parkgate at Cannon Park. Urged on by
their largest league crowd of the season, 402, The Badgers held on to
ensure that they join fellow Notts side, Carlton Town, in the top flight
next season.

Nervy Wollaton finally got their hands on their second consecutive NSL title following a 0-0 draw at Attenborough last night. The Sky Blues, who have dominated the League throughout the season. Having won only twice in their previous seven matches, the Sky Blues needed a point to see off the valiant challenge of Clifton, and a point is what they got. Carlton Town were last night crowned Northern Counties East Division One champions after a 2-0 victory at Yorkshire Amateur. Notts Amateur Alliance outfit, Basford United, caused a major upset by
winning a thrilling Notts Intermediate County Cup Final against Forest
Town at Watnall Road 2-1, against a side three division's above them. A
spectacular 20-yard volley sealed the tie midway through the 2nd half
for the yellow and black's, their first County Cup triumph in 18 years.

Notts Amateur Alliance ace's Basford United are to replace pyramid-joining Calverton from the start of next season in the NSL. The Club have vowed to learn from the lessons of the car park raids at Linby, by providing adequate matchday security.
