Beth Brown - My Kinda Country - Radio Programme (Australia & USA)
Just a short note to say the CD's have arrived and I have had them going in my player here all evening. Wow, I sure like them and Richard you have a great voice and deliver them so well. I am so grateful to my listener who requested your song "Carrying Your Love With Me", for I may have never heard of you otherwise... and that would have been my loss but now it is my gain. I look forward to playing the request on my radio programmes.
Thank you so much and Richard you keep that fantastic country coming with your wonderful delivery of songs.

December 5th 2004 - St. Bernadettes Social Club, Scunthorpe
We were very lucky to catch our very own "Wonder Boy" Richard Palmer, as he's in great demand all across the country, with his mature country voice and brilliant guitar playing. His ever growing song-list now includes Scrugg's "Little Mountain Church House", Worley's "I Need a Breather", Urban's "Somebody Like You", Strait's "Write This Down", as well as many standards, a really great performance yet again Ric.

During the interval we were treated to three songs from an up-and-coming country artiste in the guise of fourteen year old Richard Palmer from Scunthorpe. He has a great voice for one so young and not only plays guitar and mouth organ, but is a song-writer aswell. We heard his self-penned song 'Whole Life In A Shoebox' which I thought was just great, with lyrics far beyond his tender years. He didn't seem at all nervous and with a few more years' experience I feel he could be a force to be reckoned with.

During the intervals at Cades, a young 14-year old called RICHARD PALMER who comes from Scunthorpe entertained us. This young man was very talented; he sang one of his own songs called 'Whole life in a shoebox'. Everyone in the club stopped talking and listened to this talented young man. He also plays the harmonica and guitar sometimes without backing tracks. Richard is certainly a star of the future and remember you first read it in North Country.

To finish off the night, West Virginia did their final spot and they invited a 14-year old lad up on stage to do a few songs. I have seen this young man before, his name being Richard Palmer from Scunthorpe. It was very good of West Virginia to give this very talented lad a chance. He got up in front of a full house and did two numbers, everyone clapped and cheered after his songs and it was nice to hear him with a good band behind him.

During one of the intervals, they let a young lad from Scunthorpe Richard Palmer sing a few songs. I have mentioned Richard before in my write-ups and he is getting well known around the country music clubs. This young man just keeps getting better every time I hear him and at the age of 14 he is a star of the future.

Peter Mylett rang in sick, so Val rang young (15 year old) Richard Palmer from Scunthorpe, now this lad is like a breath of fresh air to country, singing numbers from many artists you hear every week, the only difference is they're mostly ones you only hear now and then like Jim Reeve's THE BLIZZARD, Johnny Cash DADDY FRANK, Hal Ketchum I MISS MY MARY TONIGHT also old standards like OKIE FROM MUSKOGEE, GYPSY WOMAN, ON THE ROAD AGAIN and newer ones from Chris LeDoux, Garth Brooks, Savannah, finishing his great night with 'Here in the Real World'. This is a name to remember, in a few years he'll be right at the top. Well done Richard.

SANDRA AND FRANK GILBERT
On a normal night it would have been difficult to put an act on to follow SPILL THE BEANS but this night Mark and Madeline had an ace up their sleeves and introduced on stage 14-year-old RICHARD PALMER from Scunthorpe, a young man who's size makes his age deceptive. We understand Richard has sang in a local club but this was his first time in front of a large audience and a what a great voice this young man has, singing four great numbers; 'THE RIVER, ADALIDA, DON'T TAKE THE GIRL and HERE IN THE REAL WORLD. When we congratulated Richard on his performance he told us he had been inspired into country music by some tapes lent to him by his grandfather and had just received his first booking for a country night. Watch out for the name RICHARD PALMER we are sure it'll be around the country scene in the future.

We then had a forty-five minute spot from Richard Palmer, who is an up-and-coming young man with huge talent for singing country music. He is only 15-years-old but his voice belies his tender years and he is definately a guy to watch out for in the near future. He held the audience's attention throughout his set, performing some really good numbers from the likes of Merle Haggard, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson with amazing confidence. I particularly liked his version of 'LOOK AT YOU GIRL'. Although we didn't hear any self-penned numbers in this spot, I know Richard has written a few songs himself which are very good indeed, so I hope he continues with the writing as well as the singing and I predict this young man will go far. A very good set with lots of favourable comments heard after the show. Well done Richard, this was a set was a set to be proud of.
