Making a Workstand for the HHB Portadisc |
|
|
I regularly use the HHB Portadisc in conjunction with a computer. The control screen is on the top of the machine, or the front - depending on which way you look at it! This makes it difficult to see the display when the machine is on the work surface. To overcome this I needed a work stand to hold the Portadisc at the right angle to read the control screen while using the computer. The optimum angle seems to be with the front of the machine up at an angle of 30-40 degrees from the surface. The solution I use is based on an off-the-shelf solution using a picture display frame. This is made of two sheets of acrylic joined by a coupe of short bolts along one side, and a couple of long bolts along the other, which act as the legs of the stand. To stop the Portadisc sliding off the back, I inserted a couple of picture frame hooks between the two sheets along the back.
