Well...this game never got very far at all, as you can tell by the lack of a proper name and the numbers in the screenshots. Some of you may remember an old 3D movement engine I made a long while back. This is a complete remake, where the platforms are made out of all backdrops (instead of active objects). I was planning to make a proper game out of it, but the bugs here and there, plus the fact that there were other things I wanted to try out, meant that it was quickly abandoned.

For those of you who didn't see the old engine ages ago, here's a quick explanation. It plays like your standard Sonic platform fangame, but with a unique twist - you have limited 3D movement in and out of the platforms (as can be seen in the screenshots). It's a significant addition that adds quite a lot to your standard platforming action.

The controls (set to the joypad as default) are:
• Left/right to run left or right
• Up/down to move in and out along the Z axis
• Button 1 to jump
• Button 2 while at speed to roll

The main interesting feature of this zone is the ability to raise and lower the water level with a control panel. One can be located at the bottom of the level. Just move right up against it, hold button 2 and press up or down. It's pretty obvious as to why you'd want to lower the water level =P (to avoid drowning), but why would you raise it? Two reasons - First, upward springs have much greater effect in water. Second, balloons (which can be bounced on) will only float on top of the water.
