OTHER SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Improvisation: experienced in performing narrative improvisation through regular work with The Uncertainty Division ("actually, properly, non-ironically great" - The Guardian), including running workshops for schools and drama groups.
Instrumental skills: proficient at violin (grade 8, with wide orchestral and stage experience), piano (grade 8), harmonica. Experienced singer (choral scholar with Girton College Chapel Choir 1999-2004). Fluent sight reader.
Comedy: versatile comedy performer, with particular experience in solo performance (including stand-up, songs and musical comedy), showcased in The Rise and Fall of Deon Vonniget ("very funny fantastically skewed" - the New York Times). Have performed in venues including London's Amused Moose comedy club, the Junction and Mouthful@venue in Cambridge, Edinburgh's Bongo Club Cabaret and Jool's Holland's Jam House venue. Have also performed character monologues for BBC radio, one of which was awarded a Jerusalem Radio Award in 2004.
Musical directing: wide experience of musical directing and composition for film and theatre, including theatrical productions and conducting in orchestral and choral concerts. Studied composition under Robin Holloway.
Writing: including song lyrics, sketches, monologues and scripts for radio and film, Fringe, a complete guide to the Edinburgh Fringe festival (Friday Books) and the novel More Tea, Jesus?, due for publication by Friday Books in 2008. Have written for Ealing Live!, the Cambridge Footlights Dramatic Club, Focus Theatre Company and regularly contributes to The Friday Project.
