Christopher Hair ~ director/violin

Christopher studied historical violin with Duncan Druce, Catherine Mackintosh, and Margaret Faultless. In addition to directing Concerto Gallese Baroque Orchestra, he works with the Welsh Baroque Orchestra, the Midland-based ensemble Armonico Tributo, Exeter-based Devon Baroque, Taunton Camerata, Corelli Concerts, and is in increasing demand as a freelance player. When not performing he writes about, edits, and publishes early music. He has contributed to the most recent edition of the New Grove Dictionary of Music & Musicians, and his editions of choral works by Francesco Scarlatti received premiere performances with Emma Kirkby at the Stratford Festival and the Wigmore Hall, London, in October 2003, as well as being recorded by Deux-Elles. He is currently preparing an edition of the same composer's complete works.
