Eco Schools is an international initiative designed to encourage whole-school action for the environment. It is an environmental management tool, learning resource and recognised award scheme.
We now have over 2,000 schools registered with the Eco Schools programme in Scotland and over 10% of these schools have attained the highest award level - the Green Flag. Our headline quote was made in June 2005 by Peter Peacock, the Minister for Education and Young People and further demonstrates the Scottish Executive's committment to the Eco Schools programme. |
