St John's serves Farley Hill, which is in South Luton. The closest village is Caddington which has a fine Norman church. Taking Luton Road from Caddington to Luton (passing under the M1 motorway, a parish boundary) you will pass the Barn Owl pub. Next you will be welcomed by a speed camera shortly after entering Luton itself. Turn left into a wide road called Whipperley Way. Turn left again at the next roundabout into South Drift Way and follow the road as it bends to the right. St John's church will soon be found on the left at the junction with Rotheram Avenue. Turn left into Rotheram Avenue and you will find a puddle strewn carpark on your right which you are welcome to use. From the M1 leave at J10, at J10a turn right at the roundabout, signed Harpenden, and turn next right into Newlands Road. Follow the road to it's end and turn right at the Barn Owl pub to join Luton Road just after it passes under the Motorway. Follow the directions above. From Luton take Farley Hill to the top of the hill. Just after the left turn into Stockwood Park turn right into Whipperley Way and follow the directions above. |
