| Saturday 15th July proved an excellent day, despite the heat, Harvey Hadden Stadium proved a cool
(if somewhat bottom numbing) venue for the Club Comp. There was a good turnout of both gymnasts and supporters. The
raffle was well supported and most folk who bought a ticket seemed to go home with something. The gymnasts did themselves proud, displaying not only set pieces, tumbles, two-piece and three-piece displays, but also two lovely dance style routines involving larger numbers of the gymnasts. The first one was jungle groove and I have to say the face-paint was particularly good, so if you need a face painter for your child's party it could be a new sideline for the club to raise funds. Mind you I did point out to Leslie that if she started hiring out cushions at £5.00 each I would have paid it! Gymnasts placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd all received medals. Trophies were awarded for various categories and a certificate was given to all those who competed. Bouquets were presented to all the junior coaches, senior coaches and to those who had helped to ensure the day ran smoothly. I think I can safely say that all those attending had an enjoyable afternoon. See below for results. |
