Phew! It's over! Despite the rush due to having to
run the competition much closer to the school holidays than we would
have liked, we seemed to manage a very successful event at Harvey Hadden
today. This was in no small part due to the army of helpers who
descended on Friday evening to help us set up - many thanks! The day got off to a challenging start with a computer network outage, but once sorted we stuck pretty close to the timetable thanks to the excellent panel chairs doing a lot of shouting. (Not quite matching Toni in decibels, but getting close). |

| Night Flyers had a mixed set of results - some great performances and a few disappointed bouncers. Overall though, the team did a great job, really working hard and supporting each other - well done. At the top of the trophy pile, Mandie and Cameron both came first in their groups - special praise for Mandie as it was her first real competition. Chris Storey, Adam and Jasmin each took away a 2nd place trophy, with Bronwyn, Becky, Hannah, Niki and Jade all managing 3rd places. (Becky qualified again - quite convincingly!). Harry narrowly missed out on a place and many other members did really well - Olivia and India both on their first time at grade 5 for example. |

We had a couple of mishaps too - Charlotte had a painful mistake on
her set, which forced her to retire (hope your knee gets better soon
chuck!), Hannah forgot her set routine, but then made up for it with a
very entertaining vol! We did get some great team results too - Jade Grace and Georgia bagged a 1st place, the two Bethanys, Lydia and Hollie came 2nd and both the other teams (Imogen, Jasmin, Katherine and Ellie, Ellie, Lucy & Sophie) finished 3rd. |
| We said cheerio to a couple of members - Jessica bounced for Night Flyers for the last time, as she is moving to Northampton. I'm sure we'll see her at comps still though. Also, Hannah Morgan, who is off to university, but who has been a key club member since long before I joined up. She has helped us tremendously over the past five years and will be greatly missed. I'm sure she'll be popping back to see us though, in the ridiculously long holidays they give her. |

| We had some professional photographers at the event today - DE Photo. They did a great job producing some wonderful action photos of just about everyone at the competition. If you didn't get a chance to buy your photo there, you can take a look at their website to browse through the shots and order the pictures.
