| Welcome to 2008! The year got off to a good start with a successful competition at Grimsby today. We came away with a handful of trophies and medals, which can't be bad! Grace got our best result with a 2nd place in the grade 6 under 15, where Sophie also put in a good performance to finish 6th. Zach took a third place, as did Ellie Harris, who with the help of Ellie Blessed and Jamie secured the 2nd place team medals in the grade 6 under 13s. It was the under nines who really excelled though, with Hollie (3rd place) leading the two Bethanys into first place for the team. There were a number of other notable performances. Olivia improved significantly on her last performance with a really great set routine and narrowly missed out on a medal, finished fourth by a mere 0.2 marks. Charlotte also just missed the medals, which was amazing considering she only learnt the set routine during the warm-up, AND managed to land a crash dive in flat-back! Victoria had a bit of a mishap on her set (feet dear!) but still managed to finish 5th thanks to a really good vol. Jade was another one learning her set during the warmup (sorry - entirely my fault!), but still managed to be in 4th place after the first round. She slipped to 7th on the vol, but still did really well. Meanwhile, Scarlett also put in a solid performance, but those medals just elude her - she finished 5th. Finally Sophie improved significantly in her second competition to finish in 6th place. Well done to everyone. I'd like to thank everyone who helped us on the day - especially Simon, Becky and Louise, plus of course Toni and Helen for the coaching and support.
