Text Box: Year 8 The year 8 scheme of work is a response to the National Numeracy Strategy. The central aspect to the success of the strategy remains the three-part lesson structure and issues such as style and pace of delivery. The strategy does not favour individualised learning programmes, but relies on well-structured whole class teaching with differentiation. Our scheme of work encompasses set texts, worksheets and ICT as well as, importantly, individual teacher input. This is all based upon the Key Stage 3 National Numeracy Strategy Framework and the National Curriculum.

Text Box: We recommend that pupils bring a scientific calculator to Maths lessons. In order to ensure consistency we recommend the Sharp EL-531 WB scientific calculator.
Text Box: The 'Formula One Maths' books B1 and B2 form the main texts in Year 8. This series has itself been written to extend the National Numeracy Strategy into Key Stage 3 (11 to 14 years). Each of these texts is supported by 'Teacher's Resources', each of which contains additional material.
