Land's End to John O'Groats.

June 15th 2002 - June 30th 2002.

This ride was a mammoth undertaking for both myself and Roger. I once did a ride of about 60 miles from London to Brighton about 10 years ago and saw much of my life flash before my eyes by the time I had finished. I feel that I was much better prepared for this expedition, although there is not much that can prepare you for the rigours of Cornwall and Devon.

I raised money for the UNICEF charity, in particular for their oral re-hydration project. Some 8000 children die each day from dehydration caused by vomiting, diarrhoea and cholera. It is not the disease itself which kills these children but the fact that their bodies cannot absorb water fast enough. And just to make matters worse, it does not cost much to save these children's lives. Just 7p will pay for a sachet of sugar and salt which increases the absorption rate into the body and prevents death. That's 7p to save a life!

The amount raised was: £2191.79
