About St James

Our main act of worship is The Eucharist - Holy Communion - Mass.

The style of celebration of our faith aims at inspiring holiness. We stand in the Anglican Catholic Tradition; we wish to carry the gifts of the past into the future, without being old fashioned or inflexible.

At our 09.30hrs we sing songs, hymns and service settings ranging from ancient plainchant to material from our own times (Iona, Taizé and contemporary composers) Children are most welcome and there is a crèche and Jamie's Oaks and Acorns for the (children 3+).

Every first and third Sunday of the month we celebrate the Eucharist in simple form without music at 08.00 hrs.

On Thursdays At 20.15 some of us meet for simple evening prayer with plenty of time for prayer for others and ourselves.

We regularly have house groups to stimulate our thinking about our faith and relate our faith to everyday life. In recent years we have mainly been working with the help of Emmaus material, as well as study courses from the Bible Reading Fellowship.

We enjoy numerous social events which also appeal to non church goers. Our commitment to the church and the world extends beyond our parish boundaries. We have contacts and interests near and far.
