In the Wheel of Time series, Robert Jordan has produced a series of fantasy novels that many consider to be the best pageturners since the Lord of the Rings.
The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the
Age that gave it birth return again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, when the World and Time themselves hang in the balance,
a wind rises in the mountains of mist . . . The series starts with The Eye of the World, which introduces us to Rand al'Thor, the farmboy who is thought to be the Dragon Reborn -- the leader long prophesied who will save the world, but in the saving destroy it; the savior who will run mad and kill all those dearest to him. In the second book, The Great Hunt, Rand al'Thor refuses to accept his fate and fiercely denies his power. Until, the Horn of Valere is stolen, and distrusting all, Rand is drawn into the hunt for it.In the third book, The Dragon Reborn, many characters quest for the Heart of the Stone. In the fourth book, The Shadow Rising, the Dark One reaches out and only the Dragon Reborn stands in his way. The story continues in subsequent volumes, The Fires of Heaven, Lord of Chaos, A Crown of Swords, The Path of Daggers, Winter's Heart and the forthcoming Crossroads of Twilight. As with all long stories, some people find the series runs out of steam after volume four or so, but for others each new installment is eagerly awaited and doesn't disappoint. _____________________________ Can't find what you want?
