For the last 6 years, I have been an avid collector of original film posters and this page details my collection.
Original film posters relates to advertising material used in cinemas/movie theatres in order promote a film that is being screened. They come in a variety of sizes depending on the country in which they are being displayed. E.g. the most common poster size in the U.K. is the "British Quad" which is approximately 40" x 30" and displays the artwork in a landscape format, where as the most common poster in the U.S. is the "One Sheet" which is appropriately 27" x 41".
In the U.K. and U.S., prior to the 1990s, most cinema advertising was distributed to the theatres by a company called the National Screen Service (NSS). Almost all of these posters carried markings relating to the NSS which ranged from reference numbers to property disclaimers. These were a way of distinguishing an original poster from that of a reprint. Around about the 1990s, the National Screen Service ceased trading and all movie advertising was handled directly by the movie studios themselves.

Collecting film posters is down to personal tastes. I personally only collect posters for films I admire or if I find a particular artwork pleasing. The collection may contain duplicate entries as I'm always on a never ending quest to find the perfect poster. I'm also using this as a way of monitoring the collection.
The posters have been organised into categories based on their type or where they were manufactured/distributed. Each poster entry features a picture of the poster as well as a brief description. The following icons may appear next to the title indicating certain attributes. Hovering the mouse over the icon will indicate the icon meaning.
