At Kingston Library in January, Cyril Kermode of West Kent D.A. gave his lecture "Tour de France" with over 100 present.  In March the committee decided against drawing up D.A. rules;  also a Post Office Savings Bank account was opened.  Later that month, at The Surrey Cricketers at Windlesham, Bill Inder was presented with a splendid new B.S.A. bicycle - subscribed for by D.A. members - to mark his 27 years as D.A. secretary.

In May, nine Kingston members took part in a rail excursion to Stratford-on-Avon;  Mike Saywood came third in a BCTC heat and second in a tourists' trial and there was more activity in the field of cycle training in schools - Kingston had a class at Barnes, the D.A.'s representatives at Walton and Weybridge were kept busy and Woking Section wrote to the local Road Safety Committee seeking representation.  The D.A.'s Hon. Consulting Solicitor, Bill Merry, was successful in regaining possession of the die for the badge of Kingston Phoenix from a Birmingham medallist.
