The 2nd January 1931 saw a "Christmas" Party at a hall in Woking and later that month a number of members were present at the "Cycling" All-Rounder Concert at London's Queens Hall, the phenomenal Frank Southall of the Norwood Paragon receiving a great ovation after winning the 'Ville "50", the University "100" and the Polytechnic 12 hour at an average speed of 21.141 mph.

Clary Loughnane as "Aunt Tabitha of
Womans' World", about to reply to
"The Ladies", Red House Hotel, Woking.
3rd Annual Dinner, 4 February 1931
The third Annual Dinner at the Red House heard that the Government had decided that all cars must be insured - as proposed by the C.T.C. - and there was much amusement later on when Clary Loughnane replied to the toast to "The Ladies" attired in "drag".

Woking Library agreed to exhibit the C.T.C. "Gazette";  it was decided that no internal rules be drawn up as the D.A.'s activities were well covered by H.Q.'s Rules and Regulations and the South Bucks D.A. was asked whether it would object to an alteration of its boundary, i.e. "10 miles radius from Slough Town Hall" so that the West Surrey D.A. could include territory within the Surrey border and this was later agreed.  A very wet Easter tour in the Cotswolds embraced 331 miles and during April a Mirrorscope Show by Norman Pearce in Woking and joint runs with Reading and Portsmouth D.A.s were featured.

A further joint run with East Surrey D.A. in May was followed by Whitsun in the Isle of Wight. There was a breakfast ride to Inkpen Beacon, and a gymkhana at Ridgeway Farm, Thursley in June, organised by Vic Barnard, was a great success; 12 members camped overnight, another 18 came on Sunday and there were over 40 for tea in the farmhouse.  There was great public interest in the Charlotteville's evening meeting at Guildford with such famous riders as Frank Southall, B. Harbour, F. Frost, the Chambers brothers, Harry Grant and George Stone in action on the track.  Other activities included a joint run with the South-Western Section of the M.D.A. to West Chiltington, a visit to the Aldershot Military Tattoo and an Invitation Ride to Frensham Ponds when 40 were at Ridgeway Farm for tea.  Ken Howell organised a boating run to Amberley with a 5 am start.  Nineteen took part and a similar number supported a week-end to Romsey when a visit was paid to the s.s. "Leviathan" in Southampton Docks while, later that day, those in shorts were not too happy in the dock refrigeration stores where the temperature was 28 degrees below.  Reg Best and Bill Merry joined and Sid James organised the 152 mile night Test Ride to Stonehenge and Ringwood.  In October there was another D.A. dance in Horsell and a ghost hunt on Camberley Heath.  A party also rode to Sevenoaks for a West Kent slide show with a very cold return night ride.  Bill Houghton showed films at a supper and social at the Rio, Ripley and Miss Gray chose a new design for the D.A. bar badges.  The year ended with the usual run to Godalming on Christmas morning, a rough stuff ride on Boxing Day and there were frozen gas lamps on the New Year's Eve ride to Westcroft Park with a record 24 attending.
