Happy New Year to you all.  Your new Committee met on the 30th November '84 at Russ Mantle's house and was very ably chaired by Less Moss.  I suggest its time we stopped debating the size of the committee at AGMs since all of us fitted very comfortably into Russ's front room.

DA MEDAL COMPETITION.  During 1985 the DA will be running a medal competition to give all riders the chance of gaining an award.  The simple rules are:-  to win a 'Gold' medal complete four events within the minimum time allowed (where appropriate); 'Silver' medal complete four events; 'Bronze' medal take part and complete three events.  For 1985 the four events will be:-

POTHOLES.  If you see or feel a pothole on local roads please phone Guildford 503151 where Mr. P. Higerty, Surrey County Engineers Dept., West House, Merrow Lane, Merrow will ensure filling action is taken.

TECHNICAL TIPS.  For serious touring or even Sunday runs don't forget a waterproof saddle cover.  Once you've got used to having a dry saddle you'll not go out without one.

BENSTEAD CUP.  Your committee has deliberated the future of this Cup which remains largely unchanged this year except for the exclusion of the Tourist Trial.
