West Surrey DA History The first sixty years are covered in "Sixty Years On - 1921-1981 - The CTC in West Surrey", a 61-page spiral-bound A4 volume written by Don Field and Bill Inder. For the DA's 75th Anniversary year, 2003, Rosalind Banks produced "A Short History of the West Surrey DA", which, comprising four pages of A4, is an excellent introduction.  Over half of this is an account of events since 1980, but this is preceded by a brief account of previous history, condensed from "Sixty Years On".

The above chronological accounts have been converted to web pages.  To complement them, articles on particular topics are being added.

The first concerns DA Colours, covering badges and clothing.

"Runnymede Town Twinning, 1986" originally appeared in the January 2005 DA magazine "The West Surrey Cyclist".

The Wish Pedlars Ride:  the route organiser, DA member Bill Thompson, has supplied an account and photographs of this charity ride.

"A History of Stonehenge and Back" originally appeared in the April 2005 "West Surrey Cyclist".

Our trophies have a story to tell, indeed the Wooden Crank has many!

Another article I have in mind is "A History of the Tour of the Hills".
