"The Waterfront" café/bar was very busy when we arrived - "Golden Beeches" cyclists again! Lunch. Preston Crowmarsh, Crowmarsh Gifford, Ipsden, Goring, Streatley, Aldworth. Visited the church to see the 1000 year old yew tree (supposedly the oldest in the country). The old yew tree in the churchyard, which is at least 1,000 years old, formerly measuring twenty seven feet in circumference, was uprooted by a storm in 1976. A part of the old root still survives and has produced new growth. Also saw the Aldworth "Giants" - effigies of various members of the De La Beche family, some jailed by Edward II and pardoned by Edward III.
