Date of census: 31 March 1901

In the 1901 census, a schedule was delivered to every household before the night of the census, completed by the householder, and collected by the enumerator after the night of the census. The enumerator then copied the details from the individual schedules into his Enumeration Book.

Gressenhall, Norfolk

Searching the 1901 Census website for 'Jeggs' produced Fred Jeggs (b Thames Ditton, Surrey) and family in this village. However, it is clear from the Enumeration Book that the name is 'Siggo' (or possibly 'Siggs'). (For comparison, on the same page, are a John Johnson and a Jessie, and a couple of Sons and Smiths, a Stafford and a Stratford. The enumerator's handwriting is generally good.) (According to the LDS Church CD-ROMs there is no Siggo in the 1881 Census, but there is no matching Fred Siggs either.)
