| This page provides the answers to
questions that are often asked before or during a course. Please
contact me if you have further questions. Can my mother / partner learn too? - Yes, babies love being massaged by all the important people in their lives. Dads & Grandparents often have valuable experiences to add to the discussion. A doll may be available for a partner to practice on during the session. By the end of the course you will be able to show your baby's other care givers how to massage the baby too. Why do the sessions last two hours? - Two hours is allowed so that you do not feel rushed to finish feeding baby or changing the nappy etc. It also gives time for discussion, refreshment break with social interaction as well as learning the massage. One to one/two sessions are short, usually about 30mins. What if my baby cries? - Crying is a perfectly natural way for baby to communicate, so there is no need to worry or feel uncomfortable in the classes when baby cries. It can mean many things which the course may help you to understand. Does it matter if I miss a session? - No, six week courses mean more chance of catching up if you do have to miss a session, and allow for repeating any thing that may be missed. (I cannot offer refunds for missed sessions) What is it best to massage baby with? - I supply a fresh pure grade unscented organic baby massage oil for use in the courses. Mineral oils, scented oils or oils from supermarkets are not recommended. See also Oils for baby massage How much is a six week course? - The total cost which includes a bottle of organic oil and all information handouts in wipe clean plastic folders for you to keep, is £55.00. What do I need to bring to the sessions? - A soft bath sized towel to massage baby on and use as a wrap for cuddle breaks, plus the usual things you would take out with you. Mats and yoga blocks or a cushion to sit on will be provided. What size is the class? - Usually between five to six babies with parent/carer. |
