  • Download the Planner. Click on the downloaded file to install the planner.

  • During the install process IGNORE any errors and [OK] to confirm.

  • Run the Planner from the start menu. Using the "Time-Table Utility", enter your time table for each day. You MUST enter something into at least the AM reg. class box for each day you have a time-tabled day ~ even if it’s just “Free”. (The planner checks to see if this is blank when it loads your time-table).

  • Use the forward and backward buttons to get to the correct Calendar Date. Use the Bookmark menu to "Bookmark" this date. When you bookmark a day, you set the date that the planner will open to. (There is an option in Setup to open either to the bookmarked day or Today’s date.)

  • Chose the time-table day for the day you want to plan and then, go the next day and choose the “time-table day” for that day. Each time you do this the time-table day you have chosen will appear on the left hand “Time/T day” box. In this way choose a time-table day for every day of your week. Click on UPDATE. This will load your timetable for each day that you allocate a time-table day to.

  • If you use Excel as a mark-book, calendar or selection timetable, etc. you can make links to these files by using the "Linking to Excel Utility” in Setup. Please ensure you read the instructions carefully on this utility before you use it.

  • You must back up the planner’s database. In the Tools menu, use “backup” and choose a location (like a pen-drive) to save your lesson plans. (For the more technically able you want the "Planner3.mdb" file in the Planner's Program directory - Usually C:\Program Files\Planner 3).

  • It is recommended that once you’ve updated one complete cycle of your time-table you do a lesson query on your classes to check they've been entered accurately.
