Saturday 17th July. Balloch Highland Games.

Williamwood continued their winning streak at Balloch on Saturday once again gaining first place in Grade 3 as well as best core of drums. After a heavy downpour we began our setup for the competition and things were going well on what was had now turned into a glorious day! The grade three medley was thought to be the strongest we have performed this season and most were very pleased! After a short break, we began our preparations for the grade two event! A big thank you to the grade four bands of Milngavie and Clydebank for agreeing to play for the drum majors. This allowed us a bit more time to prepare for grade two! Our performance in two was also quite encouraging. We were however the only grade three band to play up and did not expect to trouble the three well established grade two bands! As expected we were placed fourth in the grade two contest which was won by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. The day was very enjoyable for the band as we prepare for the March, Strathspey and Reel contest in Lisburn at the European Championships!
