About Us |
SDQS is an electronics engineering consultancy that was established in 1990 to support clients in achieving new equipment, processes and products by providing resources beyond those maintained by the client.
The Principal of SDQS is Dr Christopher Brighty who is a member of the IET (Formally the IEE). Christopher's PhD was awarded following an investigation into high stability temperature compensated crystal oscillators.
An objective of SDQS is to provide a dynamic and flexible electronics engineering resource that will enable clients to develop their businesses without the worry of their own resource becoming an overhead, which happens when a resource is not fully utilised. Working from a former pub in the horseracing town of Newmarket , SDQS has invested in the equipment and software necessary to support this objective. Some clients use SDQS as their electronics and software research and development “department” and other clients that already have their own “department” use SDQS to provide specialist expertise.
Correct specification of the requirements is crucial to the satisfactory completion of a project. SDQS is able to assist the client in the preparation of a specification.
The electronics industry changes rapidly with the result that components have a limited time of availability, which can result in a product that can no longer be manufactured. When that problem occurs SDQS is able to identify alternative components and ensure that the product is not at its end of life.
A definition of engineering – Meeting needs and aspirations through the appropriate application of science and technology. |
