Events We Danced at in 2007
2007 has been a busy year for Black Annis, we started our Morris events by celebrating Saint Georges Day, in Hinckley on 21st April, see photo left and dancing with our friends Bare Bones in Loughborough on 25th April. We made our annual pilgrimage to Hastings to Celebrate the Jack in the Green Festival in early May, ventured south for the Baldock Day of Dance on 19th May and performed as a booked side in the pouring rain at the Chippenham Folk Festival during the late May Bank Holiday. We had our annual celebration of the Solstice at Black Annis’ Bower on 21st June and performed at Bitteswell Midsummer fete on the following Saturday. We joined our friends the world famous Hammersmith Morris for their ale in July and the highlight of our season was to perform as a booked side at Towersey Folk Festival. On Saturday 1st September we culminated a wonderful season by taking part in the setting of a World Record for the number of people doing a single Morris dance at the same time at Moreton in the Marsh County show.
